'To improve Canterbury's software companies' business success in global markets'

Canterbury Software Inc (CSI) is a non-profit organisation aimed at helping the Canterbury software sector succeed at home and worldwide.

This cluster of small-to-medium Canterbury and other South Island companies works to facilitate strong foundations for commercial success in world-class software products and services, and establish national and international business relationships..

We foster success by providing educational events, peer-to-peer forums, networking and contacts, access to financing, public relations and promotional opportunities, assistance on critical business issues, training and an overall sense of community.

In addition to our members, the Canterbury Software Cluster embraces other constituencies that impact our members’ success: professional service firms, venture capitalists and other prospective investors, software resellers and other channel members, the press, research firms, colleges and universities.

As a result, CSI looks to help enable the following:

• Increased foreign exchange earnings into Canterbury through increase exports
• Increased employment and skills development in Canterbury
• Integrating solutions and component software into products with existing off shore markets
• Influence over telecommunications infrastructure developments
• Growth through collaboration on government tenders in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore and international
  contracts
• Pooling of knowledge, education and training, administration and market development costs
• Establishment of overseas offices/presence for Canterbury Software
• Easier access to capital investment
• Increased regional, national and international profile for high quality software development and services
• Increased regional and international networking between companies
• Sharing of know how with respect to marketing capital raising and the finer aspects of business development as 
   opposed to software development
