Jonathan Wilson – Cortexo (Technical Stream)

Jonathan Wilson is the Director of Product Development at Cortexo and plays a key role in guiding Cortexo's development team to create innovative software that customers love. Cortexo specialises in web based software that promotes efficient use of energy. One of their customers, Meridian, uses Cortexo's services to provide energy reports direct to the consumer. Jonathan has over 15 years of experience in software development and another 10 years in electronics research and development, including project and senior management. The talk will cover these topics:

* Brief Cortexo introduction
* What our technical environment was before Scrum
* How we transitioned to Scrum and the technical implications
* How it has impacted our development process (headaches and joys)
* How it has impacted our business as a whole as well as from a technical point of view

Nick Shier – iViis (Business Stream)

Lessons from the first five years of a SAAS company operating globally from Christchurch.

iViis (formerly Viisibility) has been operating for five years. They have clients in New Zealand, Australia, China and UK. Over the first five years many lessons have been learned, these will be shared. They include Company structures, operating in overseas markets, licensing agreements for SAAS products, moving from selling for survival to focussed selling, resellers and JV partner struggles, hosting, support issues to mention a few. CEO Nick Shier will share their learnings.
