Game Changers – The role of gaming in business

Carl Pavletich is a Digital Producer for One Fat Sheep (http://www.onefatsheep.com/), a trans-Tasman company that specialises in digital marketing. Carl will discuss the impact Gamification will have on the role of enterprise over the coming years. Gamification is the strategic application of the engagement tactics found in games to real world initiatives.

With the advances of technology and the shifting dynamics of the new generation of digital savvy workers, business needs to embrace a significant cultural change. By applying the fundamentals of gaming to business systems, business has an opportunity to design processes that solve problems, stimulate innovation, while at the same time, make work both engaging and fun. While still in its infancy, Gamification has the potential to radically change the framework of business and our concept of 'work'.

In this session, Carl will introduce the fundamentals of gamification and offer real life examples of how it's been successfully applied to business, education and marketing, and why it is the role of the Enterprise Architect to look towards game technology to help solve common business problems.
